Wes Bieber’s bloop single in the top of the seventh inning broke a 2-2 tie and Nick Ellis followed with a 2-run triple as the Bears rallied to defeat the Bulldogs, 5-3. Ellis’s shot down the right field line was his second triple of the game, and the insurance runs that it produced were necessary as the Bulldogs scored a run in the bottom of the seventh on a bases-loaded sacrifice fly (on which Ellis made a nice running catch).
Chase Waibel picked up the win for the Bears in relief of starter Louis Panunzio. For Norchester, David Levengood (hero of Norchester’s season-opening win at Bear Stadium) ripped a pair of doubles.
