Richard Black tossed a sparkling, 2-hit shutout as the Bears opened their participation in the 2022 PA State Tournament with a 7-0 win over Region 8 champion Wilcox. Black allowed 2 walks and a total of 5 baserunners for the Bears, who broke open a tight, 1-0 game with 6 runs in the top of the seventh inning highlighted by Evan Hetrick’s bases-loaded, 3-run double. Brandon Shane had 3 hits for the Bears, who advance to tomorrow’s Game 8 of the Tournament versus Region 3 champion Falls.
