Peyton Moyer scored from second on a wild throw on a sacrifice bunt as the Bears rallied for a thrilling, 5-4 win over Daniel Boone in a tense, extra-inning Berks County playoff opener at Bear Stadium. Moyer reached on an infield hit to deep short and advanced to second on a sacrifice to set up the winning play. The Bears were literally down to their last strike with two out and nobody on base in the bottom of the seventh inning trailing 4-3, but Luke Moser’s single, a hit-batsmen, and back-to-back walks tied the game and forced extra innings. Mavrick starting pitcher Dylan Schueler had an amazing game, allowing no hits in 3 2/3 innings while picking three runners off base.

With the win, Boyertown advances to a winner’s bracket semi-final versus West Lawn tomorrow night at Bear Stadium. Daniel Boone plays an elimination game at Shillington tomorrow night.
