Evan Hetrick's two-out single in the bottom of the eighth inning gave the Bears a thrilling, 6-5 win over Daniel Boone. The Bears had jumped out to a 4-0 lead after 2 innings in a game which featured a nasty injury to Daniel Boone's Dane Pingitore, who was hit by a foul ball while in the Mavrick's dugout. But Daniel Boone rallied to cut the lead to 4-3 with 3 runs in the top of the fifth inning. The Mavricks were down to their last out when leadoff hitter Nate DeBusi reached on an error, took third on a double by Dylan Schueler (his third hit and second double of the game), and continued home on an errant throw. They took the lead in the top of the eighth inning with the go-ahead run scoring on a balk. However, the Bears got a crucial, bad-hop single by Steven Colucci in the bottom of the inning to tie the game up and set up Hetrick's game-winning hit.
